This is All Kind of Silly
Let’s be honest: we’re a pretty absurd species. We live funny, over-engineered lifestyles that (with any real perspective) make absolutely zero sense.
Take dogs. They’re mammals, distant cousins on the evolutionary tree. Yet we’ve domesticated them, bred them into every possible shape and size, dressed them up in raincoats & sweaters & lifejackets, strapped them into harnesses, and clipped them to our waistbands like furry satellites. We run with them, we talk to them, and when they poop we scoop that poop into little plastic bags, carry it around, and throw it away. It’s absurd, and also kind of wonderful.
Cats? Same story. And they don’t even really like us. Except when they do. Like when they curl up next to us taking the warm spot on the couch, or demanding food at 3 a.m. They live parallel lives, mostly indifferent, occasionally affectionate, and somehow we’ve all agreed this is an acceptable arrangement. Totally absurd.
And so too are The Springs. Think about it: we jump into hot pools, then cold plunges, then hot dry rooms, then repeat—like some ritual dreamed up by people who decided discomfort should be fun. And yet… it feels amazing. It’s joyful. It connects us to our bodies, to each other, to the moment. It makes us laugh and sweat and shiver and smile. And it fills our cups.
It’s all kind of ridiculous, and that’s the point. The absurdity makes it human. The silliness makes it light. If you find yourself here, we hope you feel the humor in it, too. Because, I mean, c’mon here: we’re a fake hot spring in a fave Bavarian town! (it somehow works, and it’s delightful)
In the end, The Springs is simply a place where people gather, do something a little silly, and walk away happier for it.
It’s all kinda silly and that’s why we don’t take it too seriously.
